Our
Projects
At the Safe Streets Project Foundation, our projects are designed to uncover the truth behind no cash bail and taxpayer-funded pretrial release programs. We collect and preserve real stories from victims and communities, analyze data to expose the outcomes of failed policies, and conduct independent pretrial audits that hold systems accountable. Each project works together to shine a light on the human cost of broken policies, elevate victims’ voices, and provide policymakers and the public with the evidence they need to make communities safer.
Story Collection Initiative
We believe every victim’s experience matters. Through our secure “Report a Story” platform, we collect first-hand accounts, court records, and evidence of failed no cash bail and pretrial release policies. Each submission is reviewed for accuracy, anonymized where needed, and used to build a national record of the real human impact behind these policies.

Data & Research Hub
Facts matter. We analyze data from courts, detention centers, and community reports to expose the outcomes of bail reform and taxpayer-funded pretrial programs. Our research translates into clear statistics, impact reports, and dashboards that policymakers, media, and the public can access. This evidence challenges misleading narratives and ensures victims are not forgotten.

Pretrial Audit Project
The Pretrial Audit Project is our flagship program. We conduct independent audits of local jurisdictions to evaluate:
-
Failure-to-appear (FTA) rates
-
Re-arrest data for violent and repeat offenses
-
Costs to taxpayers vs. actual outcomes
-
Victim impact and community safety measures
Each audit culminates in a published report with verified statistics, highlighting gaps in accountability and offering policy recommendations that prioritize victims and public safety.
